Prince Edward-Gallion State Forest

Prince Edward-Gallion State Forest, the first of Virginia's many beautiful state parks, consists of 6970-acres of blocks surrounding Twin Lakes State Park.  These forests serve as habitats for a broad range of wildlife found in the Virginia piedmont, the most common being deer, turkey, and squirrels. Recreational opportunites include huntings, hiking, nature watching, biking, horseback riding, and fishing. Although it should be noted that hunting is not permitted in the 588-acre Gallion portion, which is a wildlife preserve.
